Day 3 of P90x

Oh man Oh man .. today’s workout kicked our butts!!! Before I get into our workout I wanted to talk about “making time” to work out. I weighed myself today! I was supposed to do it the other day but the only scale in the house was in my brother in laws room and I kept forgetting to ask him to borrow it when he got off work. So I finally got to use it today. I also took my measurements but I wrote them down on a piece of paper, but it’s upstairs and the kids are sleeping right now. So I’ll update my measurements with tomorrows blog. So here are the results:

WEIGHT: 131.6 pounds

BODY FAT PERCENTAGE: 20%

BONE WEIGHT: 6.8 pounds

WATER PERCENTAGE: 62.4%

MUSCLE PERCENTAGE: 45.9%

My most frequent asked question in my inbox since I started working out: “How do you have time to work out?” Honestly guys, I make time. Whether it be waking up before the kids get up, or putting on one of their favorite movies or giving them their Nintendo DS’s to distract them, or doing the workout after the kids go to sleep, or even asking another family member to watch them for a hour, I MAKE THE TIME. My best tip is to make a calendar of what your week will be like and schedule time in to work out. I have a calendar that is used only for my workout program. I write out what workout I need to do on each day as well as how long the dvd’s are. I do this so I know what part of the day I can fit it in. Instead of watching youtube videos or watching tv for an hour, you guys can be working out. MAKE THE TIME FOR IT EVERYONE!

WHAT I ATE TODAY:

BREAKFAST: 1 sliced hot link mixed with 2 scambled eggs, 2 corn tortillas, 1 glass of water

SNACK: 3 Celery Sticks (whole sticks) dipped in ranch dressing, 1 glass of Orange Strawberry Banana Juice

LUNCH: 1 Corn Dog with mustard, couple slices of cheddar cheese, 1 glass of water

SNACK: 9 ounces of hawaiian taro frozen yogurt with dried coconut on top

DINNER: Apple Almond Salad with homemade balsamic vinegar drizzled on top of it, 1/4 cup of corn, 1/4 cup of sliced steak, 1/4 cup of jasmine rice

TODAY’S WORKOUT:

-Shoulders & Arms: 58 minutes

-Ab Ripper X: 15 minutes

OMG is all I have to say about it .. LOL. So we started off with the shoulders & arms workout. I liked this one. We started off with a nice warm up and stretch. The workout was nice. It consisted of a whole bunch of different kind of curls and arm lifts with weights. We wrote down how many curls we did for each rep. I was actually surprised at how many I could do. In the beginning of the dvd Tony Horton said for beginners to aim at 8-10 and I was able to do more. I’m thinking of increasing my weights next week or the week after. So we ended that dvd with a cool down stretch. After this dvd my arms felt really .. rubbery I want to say. LOL. They just felt so light and tired.

So the 2nd workout .. the Ab Ripper X. This dvd is 15 minutes long .. but it aint no joke everyone. This consisted of over 300 different core moves to get those abs working. Oh man … I could not keep up with the entire dvd. I had to take mini breaks 2-4 counts and then get back into the groove. My goal is to complete all the moves by the end of the program. :)

Bathroom VLOG after our Day 3 Workout

I hope that you all are doing great .. I’m so happy to see that some of you have brought out your p90x’s that have been sitting around your house. We can do it! Like Tony Horton says “BRING IT!”
